Damp Seal is a high-performance, moisture-resistant coating specially formulated to combat rising dampness, seepage, and surface efflorescence on both roofs and walls. Its advanced polymer-reinforced formula penetrates deeply into porous substrates, forming a tough, flexible, and highly water-tight barrier that blocks moisture from passing through.
Engineered for harsh weather conditions, it resists peeling, blistering, algae growth, and salt deposits—ensuring long-lasting protection even in areas prone to heavy rainfall and humidity. Damp Seal offers excellent adhesion on a wide range of surfaces including cement plaster, concrete, brickwork, and asbestos sheets. It creates a strong base for topcoats while enhancing their coverage and durability.
Directions to Use – Damp Seal for Roof & Wall
1. Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, loose particles, algae, fungus, oil, or grease.
Remove all flaking paint or damaged plaster using a wire brush or scraper.
For severe algae/fungal growth, treat the surface with a recommended anti-fungal wash and allow it to dry completely.
Repair cracks up to 3 mm with a suitable crack filler. Larger cracks or joints must be treated with a cement-sand mixture or elastomeric crack sealant.
2. Application Process
Stir the Damp Seal thoroughly before use.
Apply the first coat using a brush or roller, ensuring uniform coverage.
Allow it to dry for 3–4 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
Apply the second coat perpendicular to the first coat for maximum sealing strength.
For critical areas like roof joints, corners, and parapet walls, reinforce with a fiberglass mesh between coats for added durability.
3. Dilution
Apply as supplied or dilute up to 10% with clean water if required for the first coat depending on surface porosity.
Do not dilute the final coat.
4. Coverage
Approx. 20–30 sq. ft. per litre per coat, depending on surface condition and porosity.
Highly porous or damaged surfaces may require an additional coat.
5. Drying Time
Touch dry: 1–2 hours
Recoat time: 3–4 hours
Full cure: 24–48 hours
6. Precautions
Do not apply during rain or on damp/wet surfaces.
Ensure proper curing before applying any topcoat or waterproof layer.
Store in a cool, dry place and keep the container tightly closed.
